Harewood Downs has a short waiting list and, at present, would expect to introduce a new member within 3 months of receipt of an application form. A prospective member would need to be proposed by two Harewood Downs members or produce a letter of recommendation from his or her previous Club. Failing either of these, they may provide three cards with proof of a handicap of 24 or less for Men and 36 or less for Ladies.
The Club also runs a Golf Academy in which after lessons with the Professional and when he approves it, the Academy Member can play the course at quiet times and learn their golf at Harewood Downs. When they have achieved the required standard they may apply for membership.
Cadet and intermediate members, both boys and girls, are most welcome and the entry requirements and playing rights vary depending on their age and they are not required to pay a full entry fee, purchase a bar card, or buy club shares. Special membership "packages" are available for younger children.
