The new 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 11th, 12th & 13th greens were officially opened on 13th May 2010 with a match between Justin Rose and Assistant Professional Adam Hinkins with two of the club’s Cadets joining them to play the 18th hole.
Justin was helping the club celebrate the opening of the new greens after 6 months work and an investment of over £300,000 which completed the club’s rebuilding of the course.
For Justin this marked the return to the golf course where he won the prestigious Douglas Johns Trophy as a 14 year old in 1995.

Justin Rose announced himself to the golfing world when, as a 17 year old amateur he pitched in at the last hole in the 1998 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale Golf Club, a shot that claimed him 4th Place. With that shot Justin captured the imagination of the British public and the rest of the golfing world.
Justin signed autographs, posed for many photographs, answered questions from members and stayed for lunch giving Harewood Downs’s members a great occasion to remember.
