The new 4th, 6th, 8th,, 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th greens were officially opened on 29th May 2006 with a four-ball match between Luke Donald and Club Captain Rob Milliner against David King and Andrew Bidgood. The latter two and the four caddies were drawn by ballot. Rob Milliner had known Luke Donald since he was 7 years old, being the family dentist. They agreed that Luke would have free dental treatment in exchange for a round of golf in the future.

At the time of the opening he was ranked 11th in the World and he played on the Monday after competing in the BMW Championship at Wentworth.

Approximately 300 Members followed the players round. Luke shot a gross 67 and the match was halved. Nothing was too much trouble for Luke. He signed endless autographs, posed for many photographs, gave interviews and stayed for lunch giving Harewood Downs’s members a day they will never forget.
