Pro’s Tip - Hole 4

Short par 4 but not an easy tee shot with trees lining the fairway left and right. A long iron or fairway wood with a draw if possible from the tee to a left-to-right sloping fairway will leave a short iron to the green. The green slopes from left to right, and better to aim for the flag.

We had a very pleasant and enjoyable evening celebrating the Referees’ Society 70th Anniversary and I have received many complements concerning the excellent meals that were provided and the unobtrusive and professional way in which the whole meal was served. Can you please thank on behalf of the Referees’ Society the chef and his assistants for providing such a well cooked and presented selection of meals and also the people serving on the night for their work in enabling us to enjoy the evening? In particular, will you please thank Craig for the invaluable assistance he gave me in enabling the evening to run so smoothly?

Just a few words to thank you and your staff for putting on such a lovely lunch. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, the venue and the atmosphere.

I am writing to you and your staff to thank them all for their help and unstinting support for our highly successful Charity Golf Day on 6th September. I should particularly like to mention Bina and Janice who were ever helpful in the run up to the event. Also Craig who was particularly helpful with the choice of menu before the day. On the day itself special thanks goes to Liz from Janice’s team who was a star throughout the day and evening – nothing was too much trouble and she could not have done more for us. Thanks also to Evie who spent the whole afternoon hitting balls onto the 12th green for our “Beat the Pro” competition - very successfully by the amount of money raised – and last but by no means least your head greenkeeper and his staff who did so much work for us behind the scenes putting out signage and banners, marking out “nearest the line” and “hold the green” and much else. I hope that I have not forgotten anyone as it is obvious to me the Harewood GC staff worked together as a very good team to make our day so successful – so take a bow all of you and I hope we will be made as welcome next year as we were this year.

Thank you to you, your Chef and Staff for making our Golden Wedding Anniversary such a big success. Everyone commented on the wonderful venue and the views.

Our guests were most impressed by your facilities, the blue sky and the green of the greens. They thought that the meal and the venue were excellent, the portions were most generous, the waiting staff were immaculate and most courteous. Congratulations all round.

Thank you to you and your staff for making Tuesdays Wake such a successful occasion. There were many complimentary mentions for the lunch and we thought the presentation was excellent. We were extremely fortunate with the weather and of course the setting with the sun shining was amazing.

On behalf of the four golfers from Castle Royle who played in your Senior Open today I just wanted to thank you and your team most sincerely for the superb hospitality and organisation we experienced from the moment we arrived.

The weather, of course, was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed the course and were totally impressed by the food both before and after golf together with the beer at half way! All the members who were starting or spotting were very friendly and clearly enjoying their roles.

We had a terrific day so thank you again.

Following on from the Bucks Ladies County match held at Harewood yesterday I would like to thank you for hosting us. The course was magnificent and everyone was complimentary about the condition and quality as well as the magnificent views you command. Those playing 36 holes were a tad weary – but that’s not your problem! Your Junior Co-ordinator was brilliant and we managed to juggle both matches round the course in the afternoon without any problems.

I would also like to compliment the staff both front of house and catering both were excellent and we were made to feel so welcome - I cannot thank you all enough.

I have just had the pleasure of playing Harewood Downs for the first time together with 3 friends who drove down from Oxfordshire. I can honestly say that the hospitality and friendliness of all the staff was second to none and the course was excellent. Going the extra mile to provide me with a buggy was a massive bonus and greatly enhanced to experience.

We had a fantastic day all round and we will all be returning as soon as we can get together again. Many thanks to your team and please keep up the great work you do there. The way you treat visitors is magnificent. We were made to feel special for no other reason than we were customers.
